Related to the Visegraad project V4 Summer School on Smart Analytical Science - V4SSSAS (Project ID 22230140), we are inviting you all to participate in a related monograph, which shall be entitled „Smart Analytical Science”, and which will be published by the Library of the Faculty of Chemistry at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland, i.e. through the institution of the project leading institution.

Highlights:

  • Publication will be online, open access (Creative Commons, CC BY 4.0), and with no article processing charges due to the support of the project
  • Peer-review by at least two scientific experts
  • Each contribution will receive a DOI number
  • The final monograph will be issued with an ISBN number
  • Published in A4 format

We wish to highlight that this format is ideally suited to publish preliminary results and findings, extracts of experimental works related to Master theses, or technical work that reports on useful tools that might be considered of insufficient impact for a publication in classical analytical chemistry journals.

We are seeking a minimum of 10 contributions related preferably to

  • Smart work: Automation in Analytical chemistry
  • Smart workflow: Coupling sample preparation with instrumental quantification and analyte separation
  • Smart materials: alternative solvents, novel sorbent materials
  • Smart for greener: Miniaturization and simplification of analytical procedures
  • Smart data treatment: Chemometrics, computation, software tools, AI
  • Smart control: Microchip control and sensor integration in Analytical Chemistry
  • Smart fabrication: Use of 3D and 4D printing in Analytical Chemistry
  • Smart ideas: Novel methodological approaches to sample preparation and separation

 

Welcome are the following types of contributions:

Short communications of 3-5 pages to report on partial or preliminary findings, outcomes of Master thesis, or improved designs and methodologies with use in the analytical laboratory

Original articles of 6-10 pages reporting on a completed experimental work comprising the usual sections but omitting supplementary materials.

Tutorials of 6-10 pages: we are seeking an introduction to a specific topic related to smart analytical chemistry that would initiate graduate and postdoc researchers in the conducting of related research

Reviews of 6-10 pages: we encourage to submit reviews of a specific area overviewing recent work comprising not more than XX scientific publications with the focus of introducing young scientists to an emerging or current topic of focus in related to smart analytical chemistry.

Readership: We ask the authors to consider that the submitted manuscript is dedicated to a readership comprising students, including finishing undergraduates.

Peer-review: We will ask senior scientists participating in the project to act as reviewers for the made submissions. Peer-review shall be completed within 2 weeks, assuring a rapid processing of the submission.


Publications: The final edition should be available by January 2025. Each single contribution will be made available online as soon as accepted and the editing process is completed.

Formating: Information for the authors on formating of manuscript, tables, figures, citations, reference listing is available in the template. Please prepare your manuscript using this file to accelerate the publishing process. 

Submission: Contributions should be submitted until 31st October 2024. This deadline is necessary to allow to the collection of submissions before the end of the project on the 30th November 2024.
